Christmas reminds us that the God of the Bible doesn’t stand far off, uncaring or unwilling to help. Two thousand years ago he came to this world and was born into poverty. As a child he was a refugee. In his youth he grew up in a land under foreign occupation. As an adult he was the victim of injustice. At the end he suffered a brutal execution. And yet, the Bible says, that wasn’t the end. Eyewitnesses testified that he rose again, opening up a future in which all wrongs will be righted and every tear wiped away. He is God’s plan to bring peace to a world at war, healing to broken lives, forgiveness to a guilty race, and hope when all hope seems gone.
Do come and hear God’s wonderful news for you this Christmas.
