Please continue to pray for the work of Open Doors in over 50 countries and their advocacy in raising the whole issue of persecution with our own government.
This week we highlight three countries for prayer:
Algeria – Since November last year persecution has been intensified with the government closing many churches, harassing and charging believers with court cases for their evangelistic outreaches.
Syria – Several churches are planning to open ‘Centres of Hope’ with the help of Open Doors. Pray that these initiatives will come to fruition and will impact many even in the light of the latest increase in hostilities.
China - New ‘Regulations on Religious Affairs’ came into force just two months ago and just last month the People's Congress voted to extend President Xi's office from two terms to life. No one is sure yet what impact this will have on the 100 million Chinese Christians.
For the thousands who took part in the Palm Sunday and Easter Celebrations in Iraq.
That the church continues to grow in spite of persecution and discrimination in many countries
These are just some examples from across the world.
Open Doors website (www.opendoorsuk.org) is always up-to-date with information which will help us to pray regularly for our brothers and sisters globally. The latest Open Doors Magazine is available at the rear of the church.
