Some important changes have taken place as of September 2011 to the pattern of midweek activities at all saints Lindfield.
1. CONNECT Groups These are the backbone of our life together. There are about 25 CONNECT Groups of up to a dozen people meeting in different locations in the parish and beyond for bible study, prayer and mutual care and support. We encourage every church member to be “connected” to a group (even if they are not always able to attend). Janet McLean is our CONNECT Group co-ordinator and she is the person to contact if you want to find a suitable group. Those who are relatively new to the church are encouraged to join a larger CONNECT Group led by me and a small team. This is so that we can get to know each other from the start and you can hear from me what the vision and direction of the church is. This CONNECT group will meet in the Tiger Lounge from September to Easter and thereafter will become one or more of the regular CONNECT group network. If you would like to join this group, please contact Janet McLean. The first meeting will be on Wednesday, September 14th from 7.30—9.30pm. Study series The sermon series on Sunday evenings this Autumn will be on the Holy Spirit and is entitled Lord and Life-giver. CONNECT Groups will be encouraged to follow on from the sermons and to work out and encourage each other in the practical applications of what we have heard. Study booklets will be available on the first Sunday in September. |

2. Inter-CONNECT
A new monthly central meeting aimed at building up our sense of communion with one another through prayer, worship, sharing of encouragements and concerns, applying what we learn from the Bible to our daily lives in relevant and authentic ways. Inter-CONNECT will be led by a small team of lay members of the church. The first Inter-CONNECT will take place on September 21st 2011 in Church. We will begin with coffee from 7.30pm and start promptly at 8pm. The meeting will not go on beyond 9.30pm. developing this core of leaders and so we are re-introducing a monthly leaders’ meeting to help envision, encourage and equip them for their role and to provide an opportunity for prayer and mutual support.
Connect Groups will be encouraged to continue to meet on these evenings — despite being “leaderless”— for a variety of social activities that they can arrange amongst themselves. |
