The faculty here at Oakhill are just brilliant; keen not just to impart knowledge to us, but to seek and desire our hearts to change to be more in love with the Lord.
Jo and the kids love life at Oakhill. We are blessed to live on-site and in our road there are 27 children, so our kids have developed good friendships. Jo has really got stuck into college life & next year she will lead her women’s fellowship group.
Since starting I’ve had two placements. The first at St James’ in New Barnet, a really diverse church with excellent Bible teaching, seeking to impact their community with the gospel. The second, is at Christ Church in Barnet. I’ve been given opportunity to preach, lead, and experience various aspects of church life. It’s been so valuable to see how different churches are run, and I’ve gained a lot of precious experience that I hope to use in the future.
It’s now coming up to the time when we think about a curacy. This is when the rubber hits the road!! This is both hugely exciting yet at the same time terrifying. But we are so grateful the Lord knows exactly where we’ll be.
- That study here does not just engage my head, but my heart; · That all I do here at Oakhill will serve to grow me in awe of God and grow me in godliness.
- For Jo – energy as she looks after the children, that her awe of God would grow.
- For us as a family that the Lord will show us the right place we can serve a curacy.
- Thanks for God’s immense kindness to us.
