This year our Friday Communion congregation is inviting the church fellowship to join them in a simple bread and soup lunch each Friday throughout Lent after our noon communion service. (You are welcome to come for communion as well as lunch, of course). The main purpose is to strengthen our bonds of fellowship, but also to use the opportunity to contribute to the needs of others by making a small donation to WaterAid.
One thing that Christians in Britain will not be giving up for Lent this year is clean, safe water – but millions around the world go without this essential resource every day. One pump for an African village costs £250. Our hope is to use JARS OF CHANGE (see WaterAid website www.wateraid.org) to collect small change to pay for one such pump.
Please let the office know if you can come by each Wednesday — or simply bring your own soup and Roll.
First one on 12 February at 1.00pm. James
