So how appropriate that Dementia Awareness Week coincides with Pentecost when, as Christians, we focus on the pouring out of fresh power and inspiration on Christians in every situation.
This is a church family in which dementia is a reality. Hence, this special week’s focus prompts us to especially remember those who are providing the care, those who appreciate our coming alongside, those who value our love and understanding, our practical help and our prayers, those who frequently sit beside us.
During this week, within Mid Sussex, there are a number of special events, organised by the Alzheimer’s Society and to which everyone is invited:
- The Horsham Carer’s Support event at New House Farm Tea Rooms, Faygate, Tuesday 17 May, 2.30–4.30pm
- The Living Well Day (offering free activities) at K2, Crawley, Thursday 19 May, 10.00am–3.15pm
- A special garden party and cream tea at Warnham Park, Saturday 21 May, 2.00–4.00pm.
