Ian and Anne-Marie work with OMF and are currently serving for a year on the staff of All Nations Christian College . Thank God: For what He is doing in the lives of each of the 120 students and particularly for the 17 in their tutor group. For the ministry of All Nations to students from 25 different nationalities, equipping them for cross cultural service. For all the staff, whatever role they play in the life and ministry of the College.
Pray: for all the students as they learn through lectures, practical ministries and being part of a multicultural community. For Ian and Anne-Marie as they juggle various commitments - Ian travelling to Singapore later this week, Anne-Marie covering some of the end-of-term tutorials. For God’s continuing leading as their plans to return in the Autumn to south-east Asia take shape, and all the arrangements that this will entail.
Isubilo is based in Ndola, a teeming urban township. Church members are trained to help improve the living standards of vulnerable people including orphans and those living with HIV/AIDS.
News from Isubilo is encouraging. Thank God for a united staff team who feel called by God and have a real sense of purpose in their work. Pray for Becky, the Isubilo nurse, seconded from one of the mines, a strong Christian who enjoys the opportunities of spiritual input. Her time with Isubilo has been reduced and she is appealing as she feels unable to follow patients up adequately.
Pray for the children's department, especially for staff Whiteson and Maureen (who are missing team leader Kristi, who is back home in Canada teaching for six months). Pray too for successful negotiations with an organisation considering funding the children’s school fees for this year. Ropeholders: Tim and Jenny Buzzard
We are both very tired. Hans-Ueli`s long-standing sleep problems, on top of tiredness from over 20 years` busy ministry, have led to burn-out and he has had to take some time off to recover.
Give thanks: that Hans-Ueli is sleeping a bit better with some herbal medicine; also we have a very helpful mentor couple, plus OMF and our Japanese church who are so supportive.
Praise God: we`re not depressed! Pray: - for the church to be upheld and even to mature, as some have to take on certain new responsibilities;
- for substitute preachers over the next two months.
- for discernment of God`s will in various decisions, and to learn all He wants to teach us through this time.
The link between South Rwenzori Diocese and All Saints has existed since 1978 when All Saints supported Rob and Jen Morris working under Tearfund, Africa Inland Mission and the Church of Uganda at Kagando Hospital. The Diocese particularly appreciates the long standing nature of All Saints’ support throughout the 27 years of its existence. _
_ Support has been provided individually and collectively for a number of projects within the Diocese, most notably Kagando Hospital and the dentistry unit within this. All Saints currently provides financial support for eight theological students at Uganda Christian University and Bishop Barham University College. Thanks for:- Commissioning of 39 Readers (five of these were supported by All Saints)
| The Jerusalem Children’s Hall at Kasese, funds for this raised by all saints Lindfield |
_- Successful Bishop's episcopal pastoral visit in which many people were confirmed (300 students at one service at St.Paul's Cathedral); 4km water gravity scheme constructed in Bwesumbu -Rwesande Archdeaconry.
Pray for:- The on-going challenge of high inflation, particularly the impact of high food prices. Also the difficulty people have in paying even the very low fees for care at Kagando Hospital.
- The major project of flooring the Cathedral.
- The Diocesan Synod scheduled for July.
- Movement of clergy and Readers who have been transferred to new places of work.
- Financial support for building and other projects from a variety of international sources, including building of the neo-natal ward at Kagando.

Welcome to these students who are worshipping with us at all saints Lindfield this year: The International Bible Training Institute is an independent Pentecostal College established over 50 years ago. It provides training for young men and women, called of God from all over the world, and equips them to go out to work in His vast harvest field. Students have come from over 100 different countries and many are now leaders in various fields of Christian ministry - preaching, teaching, evangelism, education and helping in many deprived areas through social and relief work.
Give thanks for: The success of the polytunnel (purchased with proceeds from last year’s sponsored walk) growing a variety of vegetables and salad ingredients. The plans for the next phase of the building project.
Pray for: Stability and growth in times of change and development. Plans for short term vocational courses that would suit overseas students who are only eligible for Student Visitor Visas. The voluntary staff whose contribution is vital to the viability of the Institute. Good health and spiritual growth and maturity in all the students. Maximum numbers of new students to enrol for the new academic year.

_ We are very excited about 2012 – it is Opera Brava’s 25th Birthday!!! and for an Arts organisation – in these times – to survive, is a miracle, so we praise God for that and feel we should celebrate somehow?
We have six schools lined up for opera workshop projects – all funded – so these will take place during the next six months. More news later. We have a pretty full diary for the summer, touring with La Boheme, The Barber of Seville, Madam Butterfly and Galas – as usual we are all over the country and would value your prayers for: safety in travel, weather(!), and ticket sales during that time.
Finally please pray for our health and energy to give as much as we always do and more to the work of Opera Brava, as it continues to bless many people and yet we do get tired sometimes. However we know that those God calls, he also equips so pray that we just continue to put our trust in Him; the one who is so faithful and constant and in whom we find our strength and our song.
_www.caminulfelix.orgBefore you book your holiday for next year have you considered a working trip to Romania? Two trips are planned - 2-9 June (half term week) and 22-29 September. No experience necessary - just the ability to get involved and enjoy a life changing experience. More information to follow, or see Phil Hale
Five Talents evolved out of the Lambeth Conference in 1998 and is an initiative of the worldwide Anglican Church. It is a Christian organisation to help establish, develop and support micro finance initiatives in developing countries to: Fight Poverty, Create jobs, Transform lives
Through training, small loans and organising savings structures, Five Talents helps to establish and nurture small businesses. Training in business skills combines with loans for stock, equipment, raw materials, land, premises etc. (to help establish grocers, hairdressers, bakers, brick-makers, shoe-repairers and necklace makers (see photo below), etc.).
This tackles poverty ‘ bottom up.’ Each business builds economic independence for the individual entrepreneur, their families and the families of those they employ. Employment and independence bring dignity – ‘a hand-up, not a hand-out.’
Five Talents is currently supporting twelve programmes on three continents. The UK office, led by Tom Sanderson and based in Croydon, now has responsibility for Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
Give thanks for: 1. Derek Osborne’s ‘fantastic’ training to Five Talents staff in Iringa in July
Pray for: 1. Tito Stephano – the new programme co-ordinator in Iringa who has arrived to replace Immaculate whose 5 year contract is coming to an end. Pray for a fruitful overlap. 2. With the relief agencies phasing out of Northern Uganda, there is now a great need for longer term activities to resume. So please give Five Talents wisdom and support in setting up a new office in Kitgum. 3. For the new village bank that has been set up in Gakui in Kenya enabling the whole community to save and borrow conveniently. May it be a practical and faithful witness to the Good News. Five Talents contacts – Richard and Elaine Browning
